School’s Out for Summer!
Come on in; the water’s fine! Well, we don’t really have a pool here but we do have Wisconsin-style Frozen Custard, a delicious treat for those hot days ahead (and the rainy ones too). We have Vanilla and Chocolate flavors every day, as well as an extra-fancy Flavor of the Day! You can find a calendar of upcoming flavors here.
If you can’t handle the cream we also keep an assortment of fresh and fruity homemade Sorbets on hand and we’re inventing new and exotic Ice Pops all the time. We encourage you to try all the Pops with our Buy 9 Get 1 Free deal! Most days we also offer a baked Treat of the Day, like a blueberry cobbler or strawberry shortcake, but you’ll have to drop by to find out just what it will be!
Liz was featured on the American Food Roots project! The editors ask “Why do we eat what we eat?” and Liz told them all about the history and the magic of Frozen Custard. Check out the full article here.
If you’re looking for something to get for a graduate you know or just to remember your visit to Del Ray and Alexandria, we have some awesome custom puzzles you should check out! Photos include the caboose outside our community school, the old Town Hall and Firehouse, the gym of the old TC Williams mid-demolition, of course the iconic Dairy Godmother, and more! Some varieties come in 336 or 99 pieces to help out the kids. If you want to get someone Gift Cards to the DG we have those too!
We also have treats for dogs! Our four-legged friends enjoy the frozen Puppy Pops, made right here in the shop of yogurt, peanut butter, and fruit. Buy 9 Get 1 Free! We also have dry biscuits made of whole wheat and barley in the shape of Squirrels for those intrepid guardians of our yards!
We will be OPEN on Independence Day, the Fourth of July (it’s a Thursday) from 11 am ’til 8 pm. This way folks can come in a bit early to get their frozen stuff before they go off grillin’ all afternoon AND the dear employees can go see the fireworks with everyone else!
New things and limited offers pop up frequently around here, so if you want to keep your finger to the pulse check out our Facebook page and follow Liz on Twitter @DairyGodmother.
See ya round!
