Again this summer we’ll have our ever-so-fancy ice pops, in exotic flavours like Elderberry, Mango-Lime, and Blueberry-Lavender-Cream, as well as old standbys like Rootbeer Float and Ginger-Lemon. We are also elated to announce that starting in May we will have the Pop Culture! cart out on Market Square in Old Town Alexandria selling the same pops you find here in the shop! Stop on by and give the prodigious employee manning the cart someone to talk to!

The beginning of summer means one more thing in Del Ray and that’s First Thursdays. All sorts of vendors and events well be out on the Avenue on the first Thursday of each month starting on May 3rd. Check the Del Ray Business Assoc. website for details.

Finally, keep in mind that Memorial Day is on the 28th of May. Please keep the valorous fallen in your thoughts.

This year is the very exciting Centennial of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in and around DC, with a full five weeks of events! The National Park Service says the peak bloom will be from the 24th to the 28th, so come to the Capitol and see the blossoms, then head back to The Dairy Godmother for Cherry Blossom Flavor on the 30th and 31st to get a taste of the flowery trees’ fruity cousins. Leap Day is one of my favorite secular holidays because it does not involve cutout cookies,shopping,decorating or any other stressful activity. I try to make Leap Year a memorable day,unlike the other 365,since it is a gift. This year we will be offering a Leap Day special.

Wednesday February 29th buy a small,get a free small custard or sorbet  from 5pm until closing! Thanks for the extra day,Universe!

It’s a little sad but since Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday we will be closed on the actual Day. We do have plenty of cookies,raspberry custard and sorbet and frozen custard truffles for the holiday just pick them up over the weekend or Monday!
