Closed for Break, 01/05/2007

The short,quiet season of winter is upon us. As my friend Courtney says,"Even the Dairy Godmother is closed".

We close for many reasons.

I need to spend time with Nora and Rob.

I need to work on the inside of the shop.

I need to time away to be reminded of what my goals are for the shop.

This year I will be going to take "The Short Course" at Penn State,a food science class for ice cream makers from all over the world. I signed up BEFORE I found out there was homework AND and exam! It has been awhile but I promise to learn alot.

This is a wonderful time for introspection for all of us.Think about YOUR goals,have some quiet time,eat simple food,watch less TV,read a novel.

I will be reopened on February 1st,ready for the rest of the year. Look for the February calendar by the 20th of January.
