Accordion World, 04/03/2003

In the course of finding an accordian player for brat night(wow, thanks again,Paul and Steve!) i have ventured in to a place I really never thought I would go. Cold calling folks and music stores and band directors and searching the internet was not successful. (I did find Polka Cola which is made in Sauk City. I'm working on getting some.)

I finally did find Paul and Steve when Steve simply walked into the shop and said he heard I was looking for an accordian player! Grapevine 1 internet 0.

All this has put me on a quest for the perfect "dream" 45 for our jukebox-a polka played on accordian by a Wisconsinite with the word "dream" in the title. I'm pretty sure my life's work would be complete should this happen.

It was my sister,Peg,(resident of Madison and mom of the magnificent Alex, whom most of you met) who reminded me of where I might find it. Steve Meisner.

I e-mailed Steve. There was a long pause ( some things you can just tell even over the internet). All this has caused Steve to ask his dad to go rummaging through his attic looking  to see if there are any 45s left. 45s always hang out in the attic these days. This I know.

I feel just alittle guilty about causing a retired person that I don't even know to go to so much trouble. It's a good thing you guys are worth it.

P.s Steve Meisner is a very nice person (some things you can just tell even over the internet).
